Hi Sometime next month I planned to put on my 18 wheels with the factory suspension. I know they will fit and everything will be good to go. However, I want to lowered the car as well with the Tanabe springs. I was wondering if someone on the forum have the Tanabe lower springs can meet up (I will drive to you of course) and let me try my wheels on their car to see if it would rub. I can meet anywhere in LA, or Orange County. My wheels are the racing hart M5. The front is 18x8.5. Tire size is 225/45/18 I just don't want to want to pay a shop to lowered then find out it rub then have to undo it.
sean, I lowered my v with Tanabe springs and have 17" wheels with the stock model 5 size 215/50/17 tires. There's plenty of room for larger tires OR 18" wheels with 45 ratio sidewalls. BUT... you will find a teensy problem with stock shocks and slightly stiffer and 1" lower springs. Namely the car will have a bit of a "jounce" when going over uneven surfaces at low speeds. Otherwise the car handles better in hard cornering. But that's also because I have every handling piece that Juiced Hybrid sells on my v (4 body braces, 2 sway bars and the lowering springs).
Eric Thanks for responding and the heads up. I think I can live with a bit of the jounce at low speed. It be scary if that happened at high speed. I can't wait to get it done. I am in the process of making my own wheel center piece and looking for a CNC guy to cut/mill it. Sean
