<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ghostofjk @ Mar 29 2006, 07:23 PM) </div> Begley is not just your average gulfstream environmentalist. He walks the walk: reportedly using public transportation and several generations of electric vehicles.
Rob Reiner apparently is a huge advocate of the Prius and has been for years. The story is that it was him who originally turned many other actors onto the Classic Prius. However, when asked, Rob Reiner insists that it was Larry David who started the chain reaction in Hollywood for buying the Classic Prius. Larry David claims it was his wife who turned him onto the car. She is a well-known environmentalist; if you google 'Laurie David' you can probably find her blog. Some other names: Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Carole King, Billy Joel, David Duchovny, Patricia Arquette, Jackson Browne, Bill Maher, Linda Gray.
at one time Phil Hendrie (radio talk show host and TV sitcom actor of "Teachers") mentioned that he's getting a prius. well he said he's getting a hybrid and even confused a prius to a Honda. But he talked about the energy display and he sound fascinated by it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(San_Carlos_Jeff @ Mar 29 2006, 08:04 PM) </div> Yes bobkat does own one and is very proud of it...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(San_Carlos_Jeff @ Mar 30 2006, 02:04 AM) </div> You're right, I do own one, a black T3, and am proud of it. With petrol at over £4 a gallon in the UK my avarage of 56 mpg makes great savings at the pump.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(San_Carlos_Jeff @ Mar 29 2006, 09:04 PM) </div> Did I miss something here?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(San_Carlos_Jeff @ Mar 29 2006, 06:04 PM) </div> So how did I get into the celeb group? On 12/1 ther were none, now there are 4 Priui in my condo complex.
Tom Friedman bought a Gen I years ago (well before the current petroleum war, actually) and was promoting its use in his New York Times column. If you don't read his stuff, I heartily recommend it. storm petrol
Julia Roberts also owns a Prius. I remember reading an online column quite a while back about what celebs drive. Most were huge, expensive (as expected) gas hogs. Then along comes Julia and Leonardo with their Priuses. Very cool.
I was watching The E! True Hollywood Story on the series Home Improvement last night. Taran Noah Smith (who played Mark Taylor) was seen driving to his house in an EV (a GEM). He parked it next to a Prius.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(gippah @ Apr 12 2006, 06:57 PM) </div> Billy Joel did drive one, but crached it into a building  Bill Maher did drive a Prius, but I read a recent interview where he said he traded it for a Lexus 400h. Well, I still think his program (on HBO) is one of the best things on television. Speaking of HBO, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is hysterically funny. Larry David drives one in real life (his wife Laurie, as noted is an environmentalist and on the board of the NRDC), and he is always driving one on the show- originally a classic Prius, now a Gen 2 (lthough I believe I saw him drive an Escape Hybrid also.)
Julia Roberts owns only a Prius...nothing else, and Leonardo DiCaprio & his entire family...(He buys them all for them.) Wish I were a member of his family!

We need to contact these luminaries' publicists for some autographed photos saying "to Priuschat with love" or similar. Avatar upgrade.
