2012 v5 here. With my old phone I had a cup holder mount that sat in the upper cup holder on my center console holding my phone for navigation while commuting (I like Waze due to its traffic routing that my v's navigation doesn't do). Recently picked up a new phone and the cup holder mount doesn't work.

I've seen a couple pics of mounts from Kudausa.com but I don't like the idea of blocking a vent and heating/cooling my phone.

Any of you priuschatters care to post some pictures of how you mounted your phones?

i just sit mine in the upholder. really frustrating that there isn't a spot that doesn't block something important.

    Hmm....
I know a lot of people mount their phones or Navigation in front of the small window on the drivers side.

But I think the front window pillar on the Prius is thick and can put pedestrians in a blind spot, which is why Toyota provides cut out windows.

I've learned to look really carefully using those windows because I've caught people in the blind spot for that split second.

I can see where it's convenient for a phone or Nav Unit, but I don't think it's a good location in terms of driving safety.

True for some people, but from where I sit, all the way back on the seat track on the driver's side, there is no sight line through the foreshortened A-pillar window, so there is no loss of situational awareness from the phone mount. One just has to be careful. Which is always the case, anyway.

My Galaxy S3 is a perfect fit in the cup holder, it'll sit in there angled up for easy viewing.

Google "iOttie". Their phone holders stick like iron to the smooth plastic shelf below the instrument cluster and don't block the view of the cluster when mounted on the far right side of the shelf in our Prius v.

We use an "Easy View Universal" in our Prius and an "Easy Flex 2" in our Sienna. The 17mm ball on the Easy View Universal can is also compatible with the standard Garmin mount.

No, the wide black plastic "shelf" right in front of the instrument cluster, i.e. just above the center air vents.

Here is a photo of the iOttie Easy Flex 2 that we originally used in our Prius v ... now using it in our Sienna and an iOttie Easy View Universal in the Prius.

I bought a universal lazy bed desktop phone mount off eBay 6 dollars and wrapped it around the steering wheel. I used bungee cord cable ties to hold it in place. Works great a 3 foot USB cable with USB car charger wrapped around the same way to charge the phone and it doesn't get in the way of anything and it's always there. My spring broke so I improvised by using a bungee on the clamp until my new one comes in.

I just bought the "Nimbus" mount on amazon for about 20.00 and it has been absolutely wonderful. Truly a genius design. Maybe something we could see in future Prius models!

Cup holder for my 5S. Keeps it safe, and doesn't distract. I control most of what I need from my dash screen.

Having a 2015 V Model Three I was keenly interested in finding a solid and sleek mount for my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone, mine has the Qi wireless charging cover on it so I can charge the phone with out having to connect it to a cable. I wanted to find a wireless cradle for the car as well and found a great mount on Amazon, it's the RAVPower Qi Wireless Car Charger Dock. it has a lever suction mount with a sticky (not glued) suction cup that helps it hold on very solidly too! I have mine mounted in the space just to the left of the Cigarette Lighter port. The cradle has a ball mount so it can be turned to fit into the space at the front of the console just next to the charging ports. Because it is wireless the USB port in the car doesn't provide enough amperes to power the wireless charger so I got a cigarette lighter 2 port USB socket adapter that gives it enough power to charge just fine. It works great with any phone that has wireless Qi charging capability. The cradle is adjustable to any angle and the grippers on the side slide in and out very easily to hold the phone, yet let you put it in and take it out with ease. With the Entune software on the phone I can make and answer calls from the Audio/Navigation system, as well as get text messages as well and have them displayed on the upper dash display as well as they are read via voice from the system, so I don't actually need to see the phone and mounting it down by the console keeps it out of the way and also doesn't let others see you have a phone in the car unless they make an effort to look there.
