The dealership wants to sell the newest navigation DVD (version 14.1) to me for $175. Is there anywhere I can download the file online and burn it to a DVD myself, or buy a recent (not necessarily newest) version for less money? My car still has version 4.1 (11 years old) and it causes problems when it says something will be a left turn but it turns out to be a right turn. Thanks.
We don't allow for discussion of pirating software (or linking to pirated copies sold through online sources) on Priuschat so tread lightly when discussing downloading off the net and burning a copy of the nav dvd in the forums and this thread moving forward.
Oh ok, thanks for letting me know. In that case, please disregard the first part of the question. Instead, where can I buy a recent navigation DVD for less?
Is there a newer DVD GPS upgrade for my 2008 Prius? And, it the dealer the oNLY place from which to purchase this item? Approximate cost? Thank you! JO
I have seen them on ebay; the newest one would be U38 I think, but its gonna be expensive. take your nav disc out of the player (under back of LF seat) and see which one you have. I took a picture of mine to help me determine what would work, cause Toyota has a bunch of em. I had U40 in my '06, bought U33 which might be what you have now. it was cheap but only 4 years newer than U40.
there is a disc under the LF seat???? DUHHHH is this in a box-lie compartment with clips on a little door which opens? ty! box--like
lol--thanks! The most recent upgrade for the Prius came out in November 2014, and is #169.95; it is a U39 unless I can find it for less somewhere
