my 2006 package 6 just developed a ticking sound. Audible at stop without the gas engine operating. all gear positions the same. Sounds almost like a slow, little plastic fan that one blade is hitting something. Sound system off, climate system off. Any thoughts?
if this is happening when your AC is on, it's something in your fan blade. Take your cabin filter out and check for anything that may have fallen into the fan blades (possibly a leaf)
happens when everything is off except the hybrid system. So car is on, audio and climate are both off.
lift the hood and see if you can zero in on it. maybe one of the pumps or something, or a cooling fan.
I have this same thing. I can only hear it when ICE, radio, and Climate Control is off. So, it's not very loud, but a definite clicking/ticking sound inside the dash. It sounds like it's possibly in the dash under or near the combination meter.
