<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mystery Squid @ Apr 21 2006, 10:39 AM) </div> Every time somone organizes one of these, I make it a point to buy gas that day. I just buy less of it. Oh, wait, I do that EVERY TIME I FILL THE PRIUS. I also tend to buy gas at the most convenient spot, regardless of price. I refuse to wait in line for gas, so if the station across the street is 10 cents more, I go over there. 7 or 8 gallons only costs 70 or 80 cents more. It doesn't even matter. I also laugh at the Exxon/ Mobil boycott going around. If we had those stations in Colorado, I would just drive to them and buy gas with no waiting. Nate
NJ it's up to about $2.80 and YES- we have someone else to pump it! my car is suddenly getting at LOT of attention from folks at work....
There is a Valero station nearby that alway has the highest prices and it was 3.17 for regular today. The cheap Arco stations went up today, too. Now 3.03. I feel badly for kids working and going to school and having to pay these prices. Minimum wage with these prices for gas - Yikes!
Filled up last nite at $2.85 at a Valero...this morning it was $2.89. Down in this area, Valero is usually the cheapest decent gas. The hubby usually fills up at Chevron or Exxon and it is usually 5 to 10 cents higher than Valero. Cost 35.50 to fill up the Jeep. Can't wait for the Prius to get here!!!!!!!!!!
The $3.03 at the Arco on Mass. in Lemon Grove is one of the cheapest in the area. There were cars lined up and blocking the main road. People waiting at the Arco on University. I have more "friends" at work saying I am "smug". I'm just less stressed than a lot of them so I am a bit more relaxed. Not happy mind you, just not afraid that I will need to pawn anything to get gas....which was on the news today. People pawning items so they could get gas before payday! What next?
My local Arco is now at $3.03 for regular. But across the bridge on Coronado Island regular is $4.49.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Salsawonder @ Apr 21 2006, 11:36 PM) </div> Saw the pawning story, felt ZERO sympathy for the guy they had on...He drove his Jaguar! to the pawn shop to pawn a 100 year old Bolivar watch and take a loan against the Jag....for gas money. Please. Sell the overly expensive gas guzzling status symbol, get something practical, use the extra money to buy your gas and save the fancy watch for another 100 years. Not sure what gas is up to here...haven't had to fill up for a couple weeks, but I think it's in the $2.80 range, and we're usually some of the cheapest in the country.
Gas here in los angeles is now OVER $3 for 87 octane.. I laugh as I pass by the gas stations! as of 04/21/06
Here in North Orange County, California, Gas has gone over $3.05 as an average for 87 octane. Lowest I have seen is $2.97, and that was a week ago. My concern now is not about gas price but car theft...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(efusco @ Apr 21 2006, 09:42 PM) </div> The "don't need gas often" thing works both ways. Sometimes you would like to get gas because it will go up another 25 cents in a day but it just isn't worth it to stop for 2 gallons...such a dilemma!
Just filled up with Shell. Seems I got the new Ethanol fuel too. Not so sure I like that! MPG seems worse. Anyway $2.89 on the pump even though the sign on top still said $2.55.
The lowest price around me at current is 3.09/gal for Regular. I haven't filled up at these prices yet but I will have to today. It'll probably take me 9-10 gallons. $30 bux or so.. Not toooo bad. Considering I drove 420 miles on the tank. That's hard to beat.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(240sxer @ Apr 24 2006, 01:49 PM) </div> Today regular is $2.89 per gallon in Richmond, VA.
Locally we're up to $3.30 for regular, $3.49 for premium. In Seattle, cheapest is Costco, today @ $2.77.
Can we rename this thread as "SMUG Alert"? I like Begreen's Prius photo, it looks like a SMUG smile. I might be doing lightrail and bike this summer... since my company partners with the city for free city bus and lightrail service.
$3.05/$3.15/$3.25 at Arco (Goldenwest/Slater) $3.17/$3.27/$3.37 at Chevron (Beach Slater) Huntington Beach, CA And I need to refuel today. I'm down to 2 fuel bars remaining. I'm not one of those who likes to 'push it' to the blinking pip (and potentially literally push the Prius to the gas station).
