Tire pressure question on 17 inch tires

    I have a 2013 Persona with Toyo Proxes P215/45R17 which were original to the car. What tire pressure are you using? Thanks for your input.

    I have the 2013 Persona. Same tires. I have mine at 44/42 or 42/40, depending on how much I want to increase the mpg and increase the harshness of the ride.

    The manufacturer's tire pressure recommendations are on the sicker when you open the driver door.

    I'm using 34 psi all 'round, only slightly higher than what's recommended on the door jam decal.

    I had them higher, around 38, but got tired of the extremely harsh ride. Even at lower pressure the ride is pretty hard, but better.

    I noticed little or no mpg drop, and I'm tracking every tank.

    The tires are Michelin Pilot HX MXM4.

    I went from what is recommended to 35 psi all around, the ride is a little harsh but ok for me, no mpg drop .
    The tires are Michelin Pilot HX MXM4.

    I got a 2011 with 17" rim, Michelin Primacy A/S. I set all four at 34 also. Not bad. Got 53.8-54 mpg.

    Was running maximum of 51 F 50 R but dropped it back to 45 F 44 R. MPG about the same. but a little smoother ride at lower pressures.

    Door jam says 33 F 32 R IIRC. I haven't looked at the door jam recently, so going by memory...

    Prius rides real smooth at door jam settings, but seems to glide easier with the higher pressures. IMO, find what you like and roll with it.
