Yes ! I am a former Prius hater! Now I have a 2015 Prius five. Man these are made Cheap really cheap! I love the MPG! 50- 55 highway 42- 56 city . Spend hours sound proofing and fixing rattles. Just installed Cusco frt sway& get lower brace.
congrats! i don't find them that cheap. i wouldn't mind a little quieter, but i suppose it depends what you came out of. i came out of a taurus, it wasn't any better.
It's considerably less noisy than any previous car I've had, under most circumstances. It's also the most expensive, even allowing for inflation.
D.O., coming from a creaky Civic I still get to drive sometimes. To be fair, the Civic took a few knocks..., the Prius has too tho.
Our Prius has been the cheapest car we have ever owned to run (mandatory dealer visitation notwithstanding - my biggest gripe with the car)
You can DIY, if you've got ways 'n means. They don't make it easy though, no oil change instruction in owners manual, for example.
Yeah, you can tell they'd really prefer that you take your Prius to the dealer for EVERYTHING; no detailed info about maintaining it in the manual. Well other than "take it to your nearest Toyota dealer for service". But basic maintenance is really not that difficult to do if you don't mind getting down on the pavement and getting dirty. Oil changes are actually VERY easy and quick. Even w/o a lift, you can jack up the car, slide some jack stands under it and get in an oil change pretty quick. About as easy as my 2005 Honda Civic was to change oil in; I traded it for the Prius. Even the transmission fluid is really quick and easy to do. The manual says check only until 100,000 miles but nothing about changing before then?? Yeah, I'll be changing my at around 60,000 miles. Better safe than sorry. And just a matter of taking off a few plugs; drain plug and the fill plug. You can get LOTS of reliable, easy to follow info from just doing a youtube search.
