    Very nice!
Are there apps for IPad that would connect to an ODB II Bluetooth sender so that the IPad could display more engine/motor/battery information?

I think the group who launched the Carista (Android) app are working on an iOS solution for iPad. Don't quote me on that though.

No issue at all with glare. The sun does not hit it right. Plus I have my windshield tinted, and I can angle the iPad to varying degrees

Hi Cream, nice job on this. It turned out awesome.

I'm wanting to do something similar. Maybe this is a silly question, but if all of the controls are gone, how do you connect the tablet to Blue Tooth? Is this done through the Steering wheel? Can you still use hands free calling? Does it have to be hooked up before the install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EastTexas, when I bought the car last year the dealer had already installed an aftermarket Bluetooth system, I can pair any device to the vehicle as long as the car is powered on. After the first time, it pairs automatically so I would get in, turn on the vehicle and a beep would signal that my iPad was connected. I usually listen to podcasts on the morning commute.
I do not have the correct steering wheel to initiate calls while keeping my hands on the wheel. I do have a call button (part of the Bluetooth system) underneath the microphone near the Power button. From this call button you can program a speed dial, I press this if I need to call my wife while driving.

Sorry if I wasn't much help. I have taken this iPad out and installed an aftermarket Chinese 8" touchscreen dvd system that matches the interior console. It was $294 shipped from eBay. I like it better so far. I do need to get that shade cover to take away the glare for my new setup. The angle it sits at is not the greatest for viewing.

The picture is my current setup.

Link? How well does it work with the Prius' systems (control buttons on steering wheel)?

Works perfectly. It allows you to set your steering wheel controls to specific functions. Everything comes pre-wired and is plug n play. For those not great with electronics, this install is pretty easy.

Been considering something similar and have a few questions for anyone who has a similarity up...

About how long did this take?
Able to make calls (linking iPad to iPhone someway or Siri)?
How integrated is the iPad to the car? (phone, speakers, microphone, navigation, reverse camera etc?)
What would be a reasonable range to expect for someone (or shop) to complete (excluding tablet cost?)

took 1 evening to install, but a few days to get the parts glued together and setup.
no, the ipad was not jailbroken. I wouldn't want to make calls from an ipad anyway. so all calls went through my phone to the Bluetooth module to the car mic+speakers.
The iPad was a nice setup but I don't have installed anymore.
Cost is cheap if you do not count the cost of the ipad. Less than $100.

what kind of question is that? yeah, it's 60% integrated. :ROFLMAO: i dont have a reverse camera, and the radio is stand alone and separate from an ipad.

dude, I don't have it installed anymore. give it a try, it was nice. I prefer an aftermarket head unit.
