I bought a 2015 Prius 2 a few weeks back. Last weekend I received a postcard in the mail from the dealership indicating my license plates had arrived and I could come and pick them up at my convenience. I had been under the impression that they would be sent directly to me from the state (Oregon). Is it normal for the license plates to be sent to the dealer?
All I can tell you is that I also live in Oregon and the last two new vehicles I purchased including The Prius both had the license plates delivered to The Dealership. I honestly didn't think too much about it. Seemed "safer" than having them delivered to my doorstep, where they could be stolen.
I live in CA and mine was sent to my house but I can tell it was sent to dealer first then they sent it to me. It cost the dealer 3 bucks to send it me.
License plates have always arrived in my mailbox in CA. If they went to my dealer, my earliest convenience will be 5000 miles at first dealer service and I'll ask them to put it on for me.
Did I say Oregon? Uh...I meant somewhere else.... It's OK....it's a big state. You guys will never find me.
Turning on state (disclosed or otherwise ) differences, you might get 'em at your auto club ... the dealer ... in the mail, or the dmv. and welcome !! oh, and good catch bisco ... the rest will be easy - no more witness protection for him ...
