Anyone out there in PriusLand that can refer me to someone in the Orange/Tustin/SantAna area that can install a BT Chassis brace? Thanks

    Roger,

Not in Orange County, but I dropped by my dealership in Escondido. After admonishing them about being careful about torqing it down too much, they installed it for me for a price of $23 plus some change. Took them about 20 minutes, but most of that was just waiting for the Oil bay to be free so they could get under the car.

I'm sure you'll love it, once you get it installed. The car just feels better.

It's so easy, four bolts the old one drops down. Place the new brace up according to directions and bolt it down. I did mine in my driveway with the help of my brother in law. You could do it yourself but it helps to have someone hold the brace in place.

If you don't mind a drive to San Clemente I'll do it for you. By all accounts it should be pretty easy (yes I have a torque wrench). I'm interested in seeing the results before I buy. Let me know via PM.

I am in the Tustin/Santa Ana area. I installed one on my 05, (sold the car) and recently installed one on our 06. I would be happy to install it.

I believe he's posted in another thread that he already had it done locally (Perhaps at a gas station?)

Yes, there is a Sevice Station just a block or two south of the 405 on Jeffrey/University (in the same lot as Ralphs and IHOP). They did a great job of installing the plate on my 06 Prius.

I've read a lil about the plate.....is it really worth the cost and effort?
    What exactly is the purpose?

    thanks

It's anodized billet aluminum that's thicker than the stock one. I think the car handles better. There are plenty of threads just do a search. I'm sure you can find a more informed answer that way.

This is the Mobil station on University/Jeffrey about 2 blocks South of the 405 in Irvine. Close to IHOP.
