This was my deal. Trade in 2012 Prius Two 48k miles The dealer will take over my remaining payments ($360/month x 3) So pretty much a wash. New 2015 Prius Two (Pearl White) $24800 before TTL. $27000 OTD with Toyota financing (0% APR for 60 months) They said I couldn't get $2000 off because that was for cash deals. I should have driven down to So Cal to buy.
Well........... You're resetting 3 model years, and restarting from 48,000 miles. Plus you'll be starting today with a new Toyota Care/New Car/Hybrid Battery warranty. So....that would be the bright side.
actually if you would've bought in northern california, you would get $3000 rebate, so cal only gets $2000 rebate But you should still have rebates for your loan. Here in socal, you would get $1000 rebate plus $500 loyalty rebate as a current prius owner. That's straight from Toyota.
That is true. I am just bummed out because the dealer said I couldn't get 0% APR + $2K off but just found out that one of my co-workers actually did get 0% APR + $2K off. Those scummy sales guys...*sigh*
I believe the $2k off is for purchases without a loan. With a loan, it's only $1k. So the 0% loan is actually at a loan rate of $1000 less than you would've gotten without a 0% loan
Well...I only got $500 off but that's because that was the deal from Toyota. The dealership didn't offer any discounts. Oh, on ttop of that, no floor mats. So I took the floor mats + cargo mat from my previous Prius to the new one. So I have a brand new prius with dirty 3-year old floor mats. lol
Wow. That dealership had a good day. They paid about 13K for a car that they will probably be able to sell for 14. They also sold a 21-22K car for 27, and got a commission for the Toyoloan. Nice.....
Perhaps you can cancel the purchase? My mother bought a car at night once then realized in morning she didn't like the car and was able return it but this was back in 80's.
If you had visited Priuschat before purchasing and posted you were willing to drive to So Cal to purchase @DianneWhitmire from Carson Toyota would have taken care of you as she has numerous others on here. Nonetheless, if the deal is done, enjoy your new vehicle and hopefully your continued time on here.
It pays to shop around with multiple dealers via email. I paid less for my Four than you paid for your Two, and got the 0% as well...
If it makes you feel better in 2012 there were wait list for a Prius and some people paid more than several thousand over MSRP to get one.
Actually looking at the 2012 trade in, that's probably where they dinged you. Agreeing to take in your lease (I'm assuming) return with 48k miles, 12k over what a 3 year lease allows. To make the deal work, you would just pay retail price on the new......kinda like they are doing you a favor without any markup
water under the bridge, we move forward, not looking back. welcome and congrats. enjoy your new car and sleep well my friend!
Sorry for reviving the thread. My Prius has 25K miles now (Yes, I drive a lot) and decided to see if I could trade it towards a Rav4. I was hoping the same salesman would give me a better deal this time since he nice person raped me on my last deal. He offered me $12.5K for my 2015 Toyota Prius (level 2). I owe $19K on it I've come to realization that I overpaid my Prius about $5,000 and I would lose another $6,500 if I were to trade in it. The dealer tried to sell me the "At least you save some on tax" BS but I wasn't having any of it. The funny thing was they actually listed my traded in 2012 Prius for $17,999 on their site after a week I bought my new Prius from them. I will just have to keep my car forever. I will never purchase a new car ever again. Not sure how car dealers sleep at night. Oh, the greed.
