Hi all - Long time reader first time poster. Last weekend I traded in my 2006 package 6 for a 2015 Persona in Absolute Red as the deals right now are just too good to pass up. My Gen II never had an issue and was a solid car, but wow, quite the difference! Still learning the layout and personality of the car, but so far big improvements all around - really liking the seats (I'm 6'3") and handling, plus extra features like Entune.
In Dec, we bought a pre-owned 2013 Persona to go with our 2005--we kept both so far. Yes, there is are big differences in the Gen III, positive in most instances. What I didn't realize was the low profile tires on the Persona are significantly louder/harsher riding than the standard tires. I'm hoping I'll be able to improve it when I replace the OEM Toyo's with Continental. Also, for the DIYer, I find the oil change more tedious--the plastic cover rivets were a pain to get out, but at least I change it less often. And dropping the glove box to get to the cabin air filter was much more difficult. The glove box seemed stiffer and harder to pop out of the side clips.
I agree. The tires are quite loud. However, I just replaced mine at 35,000 miles (yes, they only lasted that long) with the Bridgestone Ecopia line, and I am much happier. Much more quiet, and better wet traction. No mileage decrease after 1,000 mile break-in. Running 37psi front and 36psi rear. FYI.
