How much gas do you put in your tank when your gas gauge's yellow light comes on (Low fuel indicator) in the Prius v (Yes, I am asking specifically concerning the Prius v)? would 9.25 US Gal or 35 L sound right to you? Thanks
Asked and discussed many times, you can read older threads for more into. The v has about 11 gal usable capacity. The red fuel light comes on shortly after the second to last pip goes out on the gauge. With one pip showing on the gauge you have roughly 2 gal remaining. When the last pip goes out you have roughly 1 gal. There really isn't a good reason to explore the limits on what happens after the last pip goes out - get some gas.
A couple of weeks ago I waited until the low fuel light came on. It was the first time I had seen it. I put in 10.2 gallons of gas and had gone 449 miles since the previous fill-up. According to fuelly.com, I got 43.94 mpg.
My low fuel light goes on between 12 and 9 miles left on Miles to empty. I have never put more than 10.3 gallons in my v. I have no interest at all in carrying multiple gallons of gas to my Prius, so I never let it get to 0 Miles to empty.
