Inverter Coolant replacement at 90,000 or 100,000 miles?

    Bought my 2006 Prius used with 96,000 miles in a private sale. I made an appointment with a local dealer to do 100,000 mile service and change the transaxle fluid (they charged me $99.95 to change the transaxle fluid on my 2012 Prius). Dealer said that inverter coolant should have been changed at 90,000 miles, but the maintenance schedule downloaded from Toyota says 100,000.

    Did Toyota issue something to accelerate the scheduled mileage for the inverter coolant replacement, or was the dealer service person just confused?

    not that i have heard. either way, you can do it at 96k, or wait until your next service. no harm, no foul.

    I didn't own it at 90,000 and have no record of whether coolant was changed. I think the guy I bought it from would have done it if it were scheduled, but as far as I can see it wasn't scheduled at 90,000.

    There was no acceleration of the inverter coolant replacement schedule. In fact with the 3G Prius, the first inverter coolant change is scheduled at 150K miles. Hence, you can comfortably wait until 100K miles to change the 2G inverter coolant.
