Went to the market, and my 2010 Prius II with 56K miles wont start. Display works with the "Hybrid System Warning" message, but nothing else works. Called AAA, and he said 12V battery is not problem. Got towed to dealer now, and waiting for status now. Scary that this failed & stranded me with no warning.
Once the dealer diagnoses the problem, post the DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes) listed on the service report on here. If not listed on the report, ask the service advisor for them. If the dealer gives you a costly estimate to repair you may want to let the experts on here help you analyze the codes and give you their recommendation.
Dealer called and says inverter needs to be replaced, and is covered under warranty . It had multiple codes, and dealer had to call Toyota directly to toubleshoot. Says this is a rare case that the inverter failed. Parts come in tomorrow, and offered a loaner car.
Good news for you ! Glad to hear Toyota is able to take care of your problem. Once you pick up the car and get the service report please post the DTC's, and any sub-codes, listed on the report so the rest of us can see what this unusual failure looks like. It will help the community if we see the same combination of DTC's in the future. If none are on the report, since it is covered by warranty, ask the service advisor if he can give you the DTC's.

Good thing it is covered under warrenty and dealer offered loaner car because i know a fellow member here in one of the threads complaining about the dealer needs to keep car in shop for several days to trouble shoot engine knocking but does not agree to loaner car.
