Can I found out the GPS clock time?

Actually I did say in the other thread that there's a "Set GPS Clock" button, but it's in the Service Menu that the 2006 owners can't get to.

1,600th post. Just about 1 post for every 10 miles I've driven in the Prius.

 

It is UTC - Coordinated Universal Time, not GMT. You can easily obtain UTC for any time zone by going to www.time.gov. It is "UTC", the French abbreviation, because the French got there first. You can also listen to WWV (shortwave) and obtain the current time in UTC.

 

OK, I figured out how to do it. I know it works in the 2005 and I understand it works in the 2006.

I don't have any pictures, so please bear with me. Whenever you press the "Display" button it overlays whatever was originally there. Sort of like the letterbox version. Remember that. Think of it like this:

There's a service menu you should be able to access. Here are the steps (works in either READY or ACC):

1) Press "INFO" button.
2) Press "DISPLAY" button. Notice that the MFD is split into thirds. This next part is done entirely in the middle third.
3) Press the upper left corner of the middle third (look at the Xs above)
4) Press the lower left corner of the middle third (look at the Xs above).
5) Repeat steps 3 & 4 two more times. That makes a total of 6 presses.
6) You should see a service screen come up. If you leave it there, you'll see some checks run and an "OK" show up in about 5 places. That isn't important, but at least you can see what's happening.
7) Press the "MENU" icon on the upper right corner of the MFD. That brings up the main menu.
8) Press the "NAVIGATION CHECK" icon. On the 2005 it's about the middle of the MFD.
9) Press the "GPS INFORMATION" icon in the upper left corner of the screen (at least that where it is in the 2005). That screen shows what satellites you're picking up and TA DA, in the lower right is GMT.
10) To return to the regular screen, you either power down or hold the "DISPLAY" button for a few seconds.

I hope it works. I didn't discover that; it was the first hidden screen I was shown. In fact, when you're in the main Service Menu, do a repeat of touching the top and bottom left corners of the MFD (the whole screen this time) adding a seventh press in the lower right. This should take you to yet another menu.
