Have a 2011 prius 5 with 46,000 miles, I believe a motor mount is bad already.

    Car rocks a couple of times when I place it in park, and it rocks when the engine starts, anyone have this problem and is it an easy fix.

    When I bought the car it had 28,000 miles on it, its been great car for me. Just need to get a motor mount or two replaced when I find out if there has been someone on here that can give me a little info.

    When the car engine starts from a standstill, it's quite normal for it to jolt slightly....especially if the car is cold.

    The easy fix is to set the parking brake. I really doubt that a motor mount is a problem at 46K miles unless the car had been in a front-end accident impacting the motor.

    Is it recent or had it always done it?


    I thought that there was something odd about my car when I bought, same idea as you, but now am used to it and use the park brake to stop any movement

    Seems like it has started recently but my wife has been driving it and I always expect something after, she is hard on vehicles and drives the Prius like she drives our mini van very hard. I will have to check it with some help from my son to see how far the engine rocks, I may be expecting to much. Thanks for any Ideas or suggestions..
