Thought folks here might appreciate this. I went grocery shopping two days after obtaining my 2008 Prius (black), having traded in my 1999 V6 Passat sedan (burgundy red). I did a double-take when (upon turning back 1/2 way to the store entrance to get grocery bags out of the car), I realized I had parked my NEW car next to a carbon copy of my OLD car. But wait ... it gets better ... When I finished shopping & returned to my car, I almost fell over. The red Passat had become a red Prius. As if my old car was saying "don't leave me ... I can change! All you had to do was ask! See, I know you like red better than black, so I even kept my old color for you - aren't I pretty now?"!!!
Thanks. Yes her body is in good shape. One of these days soon I'll be taking her for a real check-up (at a hybrid specialist shop) and we'll find out about her insides (I bought her used from a Ford/Hyundai dealership & they appeared, from paperwork I saw, to have done a thorough check - there weren't any red flags that made me feel like I needed to take her to a Toyota dealer for a once-over before purchasing, but there may of course be surprises.). I've been very happy the first week. Looks like my savings in gas, if things keep going the way they have been, may come pretty close to paying my car payment .
If you like a good - déjà vu - then you'll appreciate this . . . . our Gen II Prius is the fuel 'guzzler' compared to the EV, so we drive on electrons more frequently & save the hybrid driving for the extra long haul drives. So one day I'm cutting through our club house parking lot (short cut) and I look over and notice a Gen II with a very very similar vanity plate. The parking spot right next to it was available, so I just had to stop and get a picture; It was just too strange to pass up. ..... and WELCOME to the land of strange ! ! .
Must be a colour cast: they're (both) just silver. I think the small car label is due to the pipe overhead. You really need to be cognisant when flipping the hatch open in parking garages; so far all I've hit is spray-on insulation.
seriously, which one is yours?? I'm a'gonna say the one on the right…careful viewers will observe the bumper guard under the rear hatch
I was kind of suspicious seeing two Sandy Beach's side-by-side, there aren't too many out there to begin with...
Yup. The left one is a base model, the right one is a Touring. How to spot a Canadian 2010/2011 Prius Base - no backup camera Premium - backup camera Premium w/ Solar - backup camera + solar roof Touring - LED headlights, 17" alloys, backup camera, rear bumper protector Technology - backup camera + solar roof + rear bumper protector (unless of course a Premium w/ Solar owner added the rear bumper protector on his/her own. Then just check for nav or vinyl door inserts [not leather seats, since it's offered as a port-installed option but it's just seats and not the steering wheel or door inserts])
