I know a freind of a freind that is soon retiring from Toyota and the word is in future models of the Priuses will have or come with...you ready?

    Side molding
Brace similar to our BT brace
    Back bumper protection
No mud guards as they are redesigning the fenders.
    Different fabric interior
    Less use of plastic

Now does this upset you as it does me?

Remember though this is only from a freind of a freind so can't count on its reliablilty. I reecntly received a questionnaire from Toyota regarding the desgn of the Prius and curiously enough many questions pertained to items on this list.

We shall see what we shall see. Anyone looking for a 2006 with 2100 miles on it?
    Super White, BT brace, ClearBra

    on second thought

Why would it upset you? Every car company makes changes to their cars in response to customer's needs. I guess I'm "old school" now, but I kinda see myself as a bit of a pioneer. I knew my Oct. '03 purchased '04 probably wouldn't be perfect but looked forward to accepting the new car for what it was and making a statement that people are willing to accept something new in order to make things better for others later on.

I love my car, I've had a lot of fun finding and installing my own mods and making the car my own. I'm glad Toyota is doing so much to make the car even better and more attractive for others.

what's back bumper protection? And if it protects the bumper from damage, will there be an after market back bumper protection protector?

Plus, they'll charge a bit more for the car to make up for the changes anyway...probably won't save anyone much money.

I wouldn't be so concerned about the future model of the Prius- with all the buzz about it- there is bound to be some GREAT competition hitting the streets within a couple of years. Even if it's not necessarily hybrid, maybe ethanol or fuel cell, whatever it may be, I am sure the run of the Prius won't last too much more than a few more years.

At first I was bothered by the improvements of the 06 vs my 05, but then was I was about to sell it for then new one I realized, WHY? It's not that different, and why start over with payments? I am really interested to see what's in store for efficient vehicles :)

If that is the rubber piece that (hopefully) keeps your bumper from getting scratched up as you put stuff into the trunk, I just bought one on eBay. Sputnik is getting a bath afterwork so I can finally put it on and he will be protected! B)

I'm looking forward to the changes. I won't be selling my '06 and then buying a new '07 or '08. I'll just know I got mine for a great deal at a good price...like efusco...I love my car!

I think the Prius may still be around, not our Prius, but a different Prius. Plug in first I would guess. After that who knows, fuel cell? I think that Toyota may continue to use the Prius name plate to try out new technologies. And other competition, bring it on, the better for everyone in the long run.

Actually, your 'friend' that told you this is mistaken/wrong...2007 will be virtually identical to the 06...a NEW Prius is slated for 08 Japan and maybe 09 for USA...and the new Prius is being strongly considered for production in the USA..

Im looking at a 1963-66 caddillac calais conv, that will be the next used car I buy, granted its gonna sit in a garage but will be nice to take out on the weekends.. Oh back to new prius's what do they mean less plastic ? Also the dealer told me the car will have minor changes each year but wont dramaticly change any thing untill 08..

I still think the BT Tech plate will be of higher quality than anything Toyota will put on it in the factory.

It'll be on the 2007 model. The last run before the new 2008.

It doesn't bother me cause most of the stuff listed can be added on anyway. Every new model year is gonna bring changes to the car even if they're not listed (e.g. a 2005 Camry XLE rides differently than the 2002 Camry XLE. The 05 model is firmer even though nothing is mentioned about the suspension).

Besides, I've added enough to this car that I'll keep it for longer. I have a "rare" Tideland Pearl colour and I have some JDM accessories on it anyway so it'll keep me happy. If anything, I'll probably add a new Prius rather than trade.

I'd be thrilled if the 2007/8 Prius had the features exactly as you described. How many times have you WISHED the manufacturer of a product would LISTEN to customers? This would truly be the most sincere compliment Toyota could give US, its customers.

Not at all. I'm quite happy with my car and look forward to many many years and miles with it. Perhaps even more than I did with my former car (188K mi/9 years) :)
