:) Hello we almost bought a Prius. It was just enough more than a Camry at the time. The interesting thing is the dealer never has any in stock.

Good luck happened and I was able to get a Hemi Charger Daytona. But the wife likes Prius and is now thinking Camry Hybrid next year. The Camry has a new style that is like the Avelon.

    Just wanted to say hi!

So what kind of milage are you getting in that Hemi? Things are beginning to warm up in the northern hemisphere, so most of our milage should be rising. I'm getting 50 MPG, up from 42 MPG in the middle of winter. I'm glad my milage is going up becuase the price of gas is shooting up.

    Good luck.

    Amusing, 05 GT owner here.

Also skimming the prius/hybrid info because the wife's interested in a hybrid for her next car.

Certainly doesn't get the MPG you guys do and I'm running premium only, but I think 06Daytona can agree. We sure have alot of fun burning it up! :D (av 19-20mpg mixed driving, 25hwy if I'm light footed)

Short commute for me, one trip every two weeks to the station. The wife however puts alot more miles on her car and I think a hybrid would be a pretty good fit for her.

Now now, Bill. Oh sure we were all thinking it....

Let's allow him to settle in first and then we'll ask him to start tracking the mileage on that Hemi. Eventually, he'll realize that his wife is kicking butt in fuel savings every month. Don't let him in on it, but we'll quietly make a competition of it.

Wait a minute. You're not reading this, are you? :)

I'm reading your post, Tony, but I doubt 06DaytonaR/T is; it looks like he's a one-post wonder. And I sincerely wish him good luck, he's going to need it a lot more than Prius drivers will as gas goes and stays over $3.00.

Do you suppose, Vandil, that we aren't having any fun not burning it up? There's another current topic, started by galaxee I believe, about what makes a Prius fun. This is a VERY fun car to drive, and fuel.

The car certainly wouldn't have the owner satisfaction rating it does if people didn't enjoy the prius. Personally it's just not the car for me. It's like practical and stuff

Different strokes for different folks. I just wanted to point out not all of us cry all the way to the pump. Some of use knew exactly what we were getting into and we bought what we did with gas/personal desires in mind when we did so.

You like getting 55mpg and I like getting 450hp. Nothing really wrong with either unfortunately they haven't come up with a way to have both yet and still have it be semi practical and affordable.

    One day perhaps.

I think that you'll find that a lot of people here like the Prius for the impractical aspects of it. Or, at least, for aspects other than the obvious practical ones. A short list:

    Smart Key System
    Multi-Function Display
    Navigation
    Bluetooth phone functionality

Hey "V" how you doing. This is great to be here. The Charger could be a Hybrid soon that is the talk at the forum there.

What are you in a GTO?

You should check out the Hybrid Camry it has new and great style.

    Cheers

    GTO

05 GT with it's measley little 3v 4.6L. Currently has the standard stuff. Pulleys, C&L intake, Xcal2 from Brenspeed, BMR LCA's, Steeda short thow, Basani O/R X-pipe, Borla cat back, FJO racing secondary controller, Zex system with the 100hp jets. Plus bling items to of course.

Eventually going to get a Vortech HO S-trim unit. That's going to wait till I dig myself out from under all the home improvement projects the wife has pilled on me this summer.

That is about the order I assigned priority to in my buying decision with MPG and low emissions next. Sigh I always did want a Hemi though. Maybe I will buy one someday and stick it in the back. <_< :p

I have similar projects. I should finish about the time I retire. Then I can start my projects.

With gas prices do you think you will keep the GTO? Or buy another car. I have other cars if needed. I will keep the Charger even if it sits in the garage with the GT Mustang.

Hey Daytona - I'm a Mainland grad myself =) Sorry I didn't catch this, I've been uber busy for months.

If you want a dealer that has them in stock, try Deland Toyota. They have one available for renting (2005, as I recall) and usually have a new one being cleaned up for delivery when I pass. The service department there is pretty good, leaps and bounds better than Daytona. If the wife can't find one and wants to give mine a spin, PM me - it's a great car and I just love showing her off
