Way Cool! But, I have a question... How come the side and curtain airbags come down along with the front airbag in the FRONT crash test on some of the vehicles, but not on the Prius? Is it the way the test was structured, or is it the way the airbags actually function?
Makes me shudder to watch, but it leads me to wonder. What if everyone obtaining or renewing their driver's license also had to watch similar videos for the type or model of vehicle they drove? Would they drive more carefully? Would they stop speeding? Would they quit weaving in and out of traffice like a driver at Daytona? Would they stop being an aggressive driver? Would a trip to the morgue help? We knew we were getting side impact airbags because the Prius is so light in weight. Glad we did! Drive Defensively!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(unruhly @ Apr 18 2006, 12:51 PM) </div> i wholeheartedly agree. this was something i didn't think of when we had the tinting done, but it occurred to me later that it would keep glass together. that's a good thing to have.
3300lbs "truck or SUV" at 30mph? kinda lame.. that's basically a ford ranger... everything else passes those specs. it's too light of a test. Once again, our safety and national test systems for car (epa too) fail us. We are talking 4,000lb vehicles at most times. A lighter economy or "sporty" car would weigh about that weight. Most SUVs weigh in at the 5k lb range.
WHAT A MINUTE! That shot of the offset front impact shows prior damage to the front end of the Prius. What the deal with that?!?
