Well there was four kids. Next year either I will be removing the attraction (old fireplace cavity) or I will have enhanced the rafter vents. As the Duke once said, they won't be getting in here, waaha.
as an added precaution, i trap 'em as soon as they show up at the bird feeder. attractive nuisance, i know.
havahart small 2 door animal trap, i think. the small one is good for the reds. the mesh size has to be small enough that they can't get through, but the trap as to be big enough that the tail doesn't hold the door open. i don't see model numbers on the havahart.com site, but i clicked squirrels, and that's the description, $30. it works great, i put a little peanut butter, impregnated with sunflower seeds.
