Hi everyone, Many people seems to be interested by buying the Prius scale model (including our beloved Admincoop : 200 items !). Unfortunately, I think there is no way to buy it from Toyota but, if a lot of you send an e-mail directly to the maker, maybe he can demonstrate a better feel of trading ! FYI, the MRP is 18 euros at La Boutique des Champs-Elysées. The maker's URL is : http://www.minichamps.de/default.asp?language=En I know the Prius model is not listed but, obviously, they made it ! If you click on 'FAQ', you'll discover that you can buy the miniatures per mail-order business from: Danhausen GmbH Postfach 500503 52089 Aachen Tel. +49-241-9672550 Fax +49-241-9672599 e-mail: Webseite: www.Danhausen.de I'll look this week-end on my own scale model if there is any model number or something to refer for an order. If I'm correct minichamps makes the best ones with good looking rims. Every one I have seen on the web are red. I think that's the only color they made. I would buy silver or blue. The hatch opens too.

Expensive little critters, Here you go; Enter prius in the search. http://www.classictoysnyc.com/search.php?mode=search a few $ more; http://www.model-car.com/miniature_detail....PMA400%20166300 Any other finds?
My aunt has this car and I got a real kick out of it. I actually own a subaru. Anyways, reason for the post is someone posted a link to my site here in the USA to show the model. It wound up as a dead link so here I am to fix it... http://www.classictoysnyc.com/product.php?...&cat=397&page=2 My price is $36 plus $5 standard shipping to US locations. And, yes, they can be a bit pricey BUT the detail is awesome and why would you consider any less for your car in miniature? Oh, and thanks for posting the intial link to my site. It's good to know it's reaching folks out there...
Thanks so much for the order - it will be picked up today and shipped via Priority mail. I actually have two more. I just loaded them on to the site. Just a quick note to other people who want other colors: Good luck - this company is difficult at best to work with. Everything is a limited edition with them and they release new models like the Prius once in a while. In fact, like with other diecast companies, many of the newer "regular" type of cars get very little attention. You all are welcome to check my site out to see if we get new colors in or you can call the store. Thanks again guys and happy hunting for you miniatures. Happy holidays, Gideon Classic Toys
Well, I'm out of stock. Just tell me if you'd like me to try to order more of them. Might be tough to get though - there were something like 1,300 made - clearly not enough. Cheers, Gideon.
You can also get one here on ebay for cheap... http://cgi.ebay.com/Tomica-106-Toyota-Priu...1QQcmdZViewItem
Mine just arrived today. It is very nicely detailed, but my wife thinks that the color is darker than my Salsa Red.
I found a Japanese site with a free downloadable paper model - could someone please translate and tell me how to get the download? Link: https://gazoo.com/nvis2/prius/pm/pm_login.asp
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(migv1 @ Apr 16 2006, 07:54 PM) </div> Try here http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=1...&hl=paper+model and here for a different version http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=13151&hl=
Here's another alternative: http://www.toyeast.com. Do a search for "Prius". They have a range of model from $2.00 to $70.00. I opted for the diecast one that is 1/30th scale with "factory paint". (see photos) [attachmentid=3000][attachmentid=3001][attachmentid=3002] The front doors open but that's it. Looks good centered above the MFD fastened with double-faced tape. Would surely become a missle during an accident but what the heck....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(BMcGraw @ Apr 16 2006, 08:28 PM) </div> Thank you theforce and BMcGraw for your fast and helpful replies. I loved the models at Toyeast; unfortunately the blue 1/30th scale I wanted was also the most expensive at $99! (I don't even want to try explaining that to the wife, so I got a couple of the smaller models.) The Japanese paper model looks very nice and challenging - I will start construction as soon as I paint it the right shade of blue in Photoshop.
