i was debating on buying out my 2012 Prius plug in or leasing another one. I happened to wander into a ford dealer today and looked at the fusion energi

Amazing deals. The titanium model with ever feature and 18 k miles a year was just $350 with 2,500 down. Crazy good price,

I drove the car. Drives really nice. Fully loaded with all kids of goodies. Also gets 19 on plug in mode hmmmm.

I wrote a review of the Fusion Hybrid a couple years ago. My wife has a 2010 Fusion Hybrid. They are very nice cars.

There is a Ford Fusion Forum out there; I'm a member. But all the same, we won't chase you away from here if you decide to hang around.

I'd be surprised if it's as roomy as a liftback for cargo etc. As far as hybrid system reliability I seem to have pretty good confidence in the FORD as well as Toyota.

Trunk is severely lacking. But the $10,000 off incentive and the cool technology make it worth it. Supposed to get 20 miles on all electric which would get me to work and back

The Fusion Energi is a very good replacement for the PiP.
I think it has many more quality details than The Prius line.

My wife just traded in her 2006 highlander hybrid for a Ford C-max Energi.
Some of the features I like:
    Big discounts offered by Ford
Being able to electrically precondition the interior (heat or cool) before work on a L2 charger
So far a 23 mile electric only range
    More refined interior.
    Quieter.
Power lift Tailgate with foot operation.
Telemetry with the ford mobile app with the exception of the vehicle location feature. (Im worried my wife might catch me sneaking over to visit Kate Upton sometime :)

    Features I don't like:
Lack of storage, compared to my plugin Prius
Aggressive throttle response (no eco reduced throttle response mode) makes it harder to save fuel (I have to really work at getting 48mpg in city driving in her car)

sounds pretty sweet, all the best!(y) i know 'dadofhedgehog' loves his. why is ford discounting so heavily? can they still make a profit at that price?

I just traded in my pip on Friday and got a fusion emergi titanium.

Major difference here. The range on plug in is over 20 miles so now my car hardly ever goes into hybrid mode. Car is also much faster, quieter and more more technology.

So far I am loving the fusion. It's like going from a golf cart to a tesla.

    Great car so far.

Oh...and if you like call stuff.... The car parallel parks itself. So freakin cool

Makes me wonder why you originally bought (leased) a pip.

    Good luck with your Fusion.

The prius five parallel parks itself, and that was back in 2010. It was such a stupid useless feature, they removed it on the newer models

Enjoy the new Ford. If my numbers are correct (thru 1Q2015) looks like Cmax + Fusion are surpassing PiP now. It will be interesting to watch the PHEV category after the CA green HOV stickers run out in a few months.

There are just many smart things in this car that Toyota needs to consider in the future. For example. It has a brake coach that helps you to stop better and capture more energy. When you stop the car it tells you how many miles you bought yourself by better braking. I just drove about 6 miles and captured 1.3 back.

That would be 2-3 bars on the regen meter in the Prius.

    This one doesn't!

To the OP, congratulations of the new car.

To Sage, why make an insult and attribute it to another group of people?

Look everyone loves a new car and I am sure my loving this car is part of the novelty of it and if you guys want I would be happy to report back in the future. The ice on this car is not as efficient as the pip but I drive 10 miles each way to work and in my pip the ice would go on a few seconds before I pulled into my work spot. This will enable me to go to work and back on all battery.

What is also interesting is apparently the car "learns" your frequent destinations so if your batter is depleted and it knows you are almost at your destination it will use a little of the reserves to prevent you from going into the ice mode. Cool right?

    Very cool indeed!
These are the types of things that can be done with navigation enabled.
I love seeing this, very happy to see Ford being the first to enable something like this.

    Congrats!

I've been driving this drivetrain in my CMax Energi for a couple of years now and it's quite impressive. My EV range estimate is usually 24-28 miles depending on weather and heater or a/c use. My current tank numbers are 1600 miles on 2/10ths of a gallon of fuel and that's only because I somehow had the car in EV Auto mode which allows for ICE usage instead of EV Now which has a much higher threshold of activation.

Like me, it sounds like you have the 303a package with all the bells and whistles. I've really grown accustomed to the rain sensing wipers as we are coming out of one of the wettest winter/springs in many years. Also, the steering wheel controls (all FOUR of them plus two 2-way paddles), might seem overwhelming at first but with time I've come to find them to be incredibly well thought out. They are quite large and easy to identify/find by feel. My wife's Outback is just a plain mess in comparison. Use the upper left one to explore the left display screen menu choices. In My View, you can select a coolant gauge, RPM tachometer, or several others for a custom display.

Can you please tell me the Ford dealer that took your trade in and the sweet $$ by "Private Conversation" ?
I'm trying to do the same here in Long Island.
    Thanks
