Found this @ my local Toyota dealer via the Local Service Offers - Toyota.com , put in zip code 08873 Must be some Nasa Grade super synthetic oil I can't believe their is only a 30k oil change offered @ Dayton Toyota
It's just an overpriced 30K "service" which includes an oil change. Oil change interval is still 10K.
I'm a little jaded, but really, this is all you can be assured of getting: Some of it's pure bs anyway. Driver's floor mat, silly. Front differential oil: good luck finding that. The brake inspection: a cursory glance as they rotate the tires. The major labour will be a guy putting ticks in boxes.
my dealer saud to changed the oil at 5k, i'll change the 1st then 10k with mobil 1 or castrol gtx full synthetic change.
they gave me 2 year free maint. but they use regular oil, i wonder i i can pay them the difference to use the full synthetic oil.
that shouldn't be the case, toyota specs synthetic, and toyota is paying for it. i got synthetic. (at least, that's what they told me)
Instead of offering to pay the difference, tell them to use the Toyota spec oil, or find another dealer.
They shouldn't be. Toyota recommends 10k changes with synthetic oil only, and that's what dealers should use if they don't wanna get in trouble in HQ.
I'm to assume there is regular oil in the car now, new from factory or there is an incorrect service sticker on my windshield put on by the dealer.
?? The factory-fill engine oil will be the correct 0W-20 full synthetic oil. Leave that oil alone, until the car logs 10K miles or one year of ownership. Or if you must change the oil sooner for whatever reason, make sure that the correct 0W-20 full synthetic oil is used. If there is any doubt about that, I personally would decline the "free" oil change service.
Dealer keeps on pushing it's 5k service, I told him this is a personal car, not taxi or driven in dusty conditions.. I guess the dealer is about ripping somebody off?
Use to be just about that in Chicago area Toyota dealers. Now it is over $7.00. Good ole American way.
$5.63 for a single litre of 0W-20 IS crazy low, everyday too. When I get supplies for our son's Civic I get Honda 0W-20 litres, for about $8.50. Don't sweat the difference.
There are still 5K items, the biggest one being tire rotation. Everything else is a bunch of "checks."
