Hi all. Been lurking a while as I was shopping for a Gen II for Mrs. Tvpierce. We picked up an immaculate 2008 with 100k miles a couple weeks ago -- both of us absolutely love the car. Not sure of the of the numeric trim level, but it's loaded: leather, sat nav, JBL, fog/driving lights, smart key. The car came with only one key FOB. I made an appointment with a local dealer to purchase and have programmed a second FOB. Went in Saturday to get it done. Before I left the dealer, I checked the operation of the new FOB, and found that it wouldn't lock/unlock the doors -- it will only start the car. They tried a second time to program it, but the same issue persists. The service writer said I'll need to come back during the week when the Lead Tech is in -- he'll be better able to trouble-shoot it. In researching here on PriusChat, it appears my smart key equipped car needs a FOB with a silver logo (which the original one is). The FOB they tried to program has a black logo. Is this the problem?
