This will be my first oil change on my own. Can anyone tell me how many Quarts does this model take? Thanks.
It's somewhere between 4 and 5 qts. I bought a 5 qt jug of 0W-20, and tried to fill with 4 qts by eyeballing the level in the jug. It took mine to the middle of the range on the dipstick.
With filter change, 4.4 US quarts (4.2 liters) will put the oil level on the top mark on the dipstick. The drain bolt requires a 14 mm socket (torque is 27 lb/ft). The oil filter housing requires a 64.0 mm 14 face socket (torque is 18 lb/ft).
Also, don't assume they put the proper amount of oil in the car either. I gave the dealer a 5qt jug and didn't get any oil or container back, and the oil was overfilled.
There's a lot of instruction in my attachment regarding position of stiffeners on the oil filter housing, and the retention clip. You can ignore it, it's pointless.
What I have always done is buy a 5 quart jug of Mobile One and pour out 2 cups into an old measuring cup. Then you can add the whole container without trying to eyeball anything. After you empty the container then pour the half quart back into it and save it incase you need to add oil during the next 10,000 miles or one year.
