Has anyone tinted their windows and if you have, do you notice any vibrations or rattles from them taking the door panel apart? I am trying to decide if I will tint the windows when my car comes in but wanted to check with those that already have. Thanks! (BTW I heard there are certain tints to use that dont affect the nav - I'll check with the business that will be doing the tinting then)

There are lots and lots and lots ...and lots of threads on tinting. I have not noticed any rattling or anything like that, but then I didn't know that they even removed any door panels. They could have, but it didn't take that long to do it so I'm not sure they had time. Maybe someone else knows about that. I chose Formula one Pinnical 35%, Love it. :)

My tinters didn't take the door panels apart. They were able to fully tint the windows and keep the car all in one piece. Got 20% tint on the rear windows, and 30% on the front, no tint on the front windshield. Didn't tint the already tinted lower rear window. Took about 2.5 hours for them to complete the job, cost ~$170 with a lifetime guarantee/warrantee and about 3 days to allow it to dry/no rolling down windows. I love the tint job, and it was worth every cent and more! :) My tint hasn't interfered with my nav either, it works perfectly. I think some kinds of metallic tints can have an affect on some gps systems, but you may want to look further into that.

Maybe it was my car... But they did take the door apart - atleast I thought they did haha. But that's cool that they didnt on yours - they must have laid it as close to the bottom "trim" if you will of the glass by the armrest? I will let them know this when I go in and confirm they do the same. They really do a great job so it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks all!

My guy tucks the tint in - you'd swear he had to take the doors apart - but he doesn't.

No, mine didn't take the doors apart. I went a little extra mile for my "huper optik" install. Tinted the windshield too. I have pictures from last year somewhere.

anyway, check out the huper optik - supposed to be able to tint darker without it actually being darker - or some such thing, I forget.

No reason to take the doors apart. All they did with mine was poke the inside rubber piece at the bottom of the window down. They popped back up after the obligatory 3 day wait to use the windows.

Can you tint the back hatch window with the defroster coils in it? Would that hurt the tint when they heated up? Also, it looks like the bottom little window under the spoiler I think it is, it already pretty much tinted. (I plan on tinting all four windows on the left and right and then the back on if it is ok to do so.)

My 1994 Camry has tinted windows with the defroster coils and has worked just fine for 12 years.
