we are looking at a Prius v Five with the AT package. We drove one today but the audible warning indicater volume seems really low when. Is there a way to increase the volume of the lane departure alert warning sound? The salesman did not know. Thanks for your help.
No surprise that the salesman didn't know. There may or may not be. Most of the system beeps are fairly low volume and not adjustable. But you can browse through the manual in the customization section and see. (section 9)
I could not find it there any where in the manual provided in this link. Does the sound get louder if you have the radio louder? It seems that the radio could easily drown the warning sounds out.
p 575, "operational signal buzzer" has 7 settings. Hard to say if its relevant or not but its adjustable.
Did you manage to get it louder? I have the same question... I find the warning alarm goes rather unoticed the with the radio playing & road noise. I tried changing the buzzer volume as suggested in post #3, however that is the beep's volume level when locking/unlocking the doors.
I had asked the tec.about the volume on my 2013 v package 5 and he said there is no way to increase volume.would be great if there were for us that have a hearing problem to begin with.I was cut off one time going 55 mph and it really worked well, hit the brakes and i did hear the buzzer and applied my brakes in time to go where i wanted to get out of danger.Love it.
that's the pre-collision warning.. and just the fact it does apply the brakes, it's an attention grabber. As for the lane departure warning (as specified in the OP), the brakes aren't involved and the audible doesn't seem loud enoguh. I just came in from a Ford and whenever there was as system warning, the radio (regarless if it was XM, Bluetooth, FM), the audio would mute for a few seconds.
