    Hi all,

2011 Prius Four with Solar package and have been using Siri successfully through bluetooth and it works beautifully. But I can't figure out if there is a way to trigger Siri into listening mode without holding down the home button on the phone. Anything on the steering controls to trigger Siri?

I know I can use the Prius' default voice controlled calling system, but it is such pain to go through step by step on its voice menu.

    Thanks!

    Ank

Sorry, that feature is not available on the 2010 Prius (or any Prius for that matter. Siri Eyes Free has only just begun showing up on select 2015 Lexus vehicles). I use the Home button on the phone as well if I need to use Siri to change playlist or albums.

For calls, you can always use the Speed Dial function on the car (press the on-hook/call button once to bring up the phone screen, press Speed Dials, then choose the person you want) if you don't want to use voice commands.

I thought that would be the case. Bummer.

So, does anyone have experience with one of these? It's a bluetooth "home button" and connects to your phone. Seems a little overpriced foe what it does.

If you're running iOS 8, you can use the "Hey Siri" function. Just have to make sure the phone is plugged into a power source. As long as the phone is plugged in, you can just say "Hey Siri" and the Siri will respond.

Yeah, I don't have iOS8 - by choice. It's sluggish on my oldish iphone 5.

You might want to investigate this product that is supported by iphone 5 and 2011 prius.
It describes what you are looking for but I have not tried it.

This PC member got it working on a genII.

    Bump.

Your post got me wondering how to add a Home Button, too. I tried "Hey Siri" but it got weird thinking she was listening to *everything I said*. So, I checked out the Satechi Bluetooth Button ($25 from Amazon) and really like it. It's a about the size of a half-dollar and the mount reminds me of a ring pop, but it works fine. Click, Double-click and Click-hold work great w/o any lag. Very happy w/ it.
