Never did I say it was, what I'm saying to you, is that you appear to be in the VAST MINORITY. For an example I have never felt that a stock audio system was adequate. Yes, even $10,000 Mark Levinson, Nakamichi, Bang Olufsen, etc, etc upgrades. But I've come to realize that I'm in the minority and that this lacking feature can be easily remedied.
But that is not something that the car maker can fix for $2 per car.......or less. And I contend that NOBODY really likes not having a light in the back seat; I'm just actually taking the time to complain about it.
I contend that I don't really care about what people in the back seat need. I buy a car for me to drive & what's important to me is what makes the car better for the driver. Passengers are along for the ride, if they want a light use a cell phone or flashlight or go get into your own car. You can't please everyone all the time & this seems silly to even complain about. In all of the cars I've owned over many decades I've never given this a 2nd thought and neither has any passenger.
WOW. What a considerate chap you are. NOT. It is a problem for the owner too......if, for instance, you are trying to find something that you dropped on the back floor at night.
There are 2 issues with stock C2 audio system: mediocre speakers and dated interface. I ran audio tests (The Ultimate Headphones Test) and Bass +1, Treble +1 seems to be the best setting.. Still annoying drop in the mids due to cheap x-over. I entertained idea of replacing speakers but at the end decided that it was not worth my time; as is it is adequate for FM transmissions.
Wow. Yeah stock system is terrible. Then again I get stuck in my car for up to 13 hours a day sometimes and being an audiophile I Def invest in stereo. 2400 watts in this little guy, components, subs, full equalizer audiophile deck with 5v pre outs
13hr is a long time! I am at most <2hr a time. I have considered just replacing speakers with Pioneer A-series (they are rated from 34 Hz to 30-32 kHz).. and foregoing sub (don't wanna loose any trunk space). What do you have for set up? Where did you put your sub at?
I have pioneer components up front, 2 way in the rear. I actually have two of the "ghetto" pioneer pre loaded space saving 10" subs. They surprised the hell out of me. 1200 watt 4 channel, 1200 watt 2 channel running bridged.
Anyone with a 2015 willing to trade door cards and hvac control plus cash from me on top? Same goes with seat covers.
It's attached to a metal body seam underneath, but yes. Never get shocked now. And that "tuner" "cool". And idiot drivers pulling up alongside me saying that downing is hanging down from underneath my car ha ha.
Thanks for the pics! unfortunately wouldn't work for me. As is I am short on trunk space and will have to remove foam inserts. I am thinking about getting these under pass seat:
