Behind the bumper..?

    Toyota shop is re-painting my 2012 Blizzard Pearl bumper. Behind it is a long piece of some kind of foam (see photo). Is that material biodegradable?

    That foam is behind all bumpers. It's very hard foam, not your ordinary household stuff. It's to absorb impact.

    I'm guessing that it's about as biodegradable as the rest of the bumper.
    It might be recyclable.
    Many car parts are.

    Not biodegradable. You don't want the bumper to biodegrade while still on the car.

    OP, what's your concern? That it might start degrading, coming apart? Or are you getting a new one, wanting to recycle it? A lot of communities now have Styrofoam recycling, fwiw.
