I wonder what happens in this case when passenger has the key and is dropped off. I know what happens right away, a NO KEY DETECTED flash got my attention and was able to get the key before the passenger was gone. Does anyone know what happens if one continues to drive in this mode?

The car runs fine until you turn it off. Since you have no key, you can't restart it.

The car will continue to operate as normal (with the exception of the NO KEY DETECTED warning). However, after you turn off the car, you won't be able to start it again (or lock it for that matter).

I think you should be able to lock it from the buttons inside front seat. (Lock I understood as lock the car doors)

if you reach in through the open window, hit lock, hit auto up and pull yur arm out quick? not sure if the window works after you shut the car down.

The Prius allow the windows to be operated for about 30-ish seconds after the car is shut down.

Nope, unless you crawl out the window. Once the door opens, the windows stop working.

get out with the car on, shut the door, reach in and press the power button, then lift the window switch?

Now that's thinking with your head! What about the old hold the door handle up as you close the door? I used to do it on my Hondas. Never needed o so on the Prius though.

Don't see why you couldn't lock it by the door button with the door open. The only time I couldn't lock the 2005 was when the SKS fob was still inside the car.

I got that on my Plugin. I replace the battery but that didn't help. If your cell phone is close to the key. It won't detect it. Sometime I hold it to the engine start and NO KEY DETECTED disappear. Hope that help
