Such a beautiful day in Ohio. I just couldn't just do chores all day. Got out in the garage and mounted the new hitch to the "v" shell (mostly to get it out of the box and off of the floor.)

After that I started to get into the dash. Almost got that last airbag out.

It won't take long the next time I get out there. :D

    Some progress today.

    Windshield wiper system is out.

Top dash cover with passenger airbag is out. (Already spoken for!) It was quite a jigsaw puzzle to get out, and I am very glad a windshield wasn't blocking my way.

The dash itself is quite a sight at the moment, but that is how progress goes. By the end of the day I had the back of my Gen-II full of removed parts headed to the storage garage for safe keeping.

...and yes, it is still drivable this way!

Off-topic question: how many inches off the ground is the center of the Torklift hitch? I Haven't had a chance to get mine installed yet.

14.25" to the center of the receiver, 12.75" to the bottom edge. HOWEVER, the car has no interior, no doors and no hatch, so expect yours to be up to an inch lower.

I had always wanted to swap a prius drive train into a Toyota mini van body for work but know I don't have the skill or time then the prius wagon came out so Ill get one of them when I find a cheap one to abuse..

I think we can all agree you have a project going we all though of but didn't have the balls to start.

    best of luck!

People that tell you to think outside of the box often don't realize that the box can be used as raw material to make other things. :D

It's 22 degF outside today. Too cold for my arthritis to work on the car, so I did some shopping on line and purchased the MIG welder I'll need.

Look out world. Engineer with welder! :D

well it was going great until the garage mysteriously burned to the ground...
some "welded beer can art" was all that survived the blaze.
