I installed seat covers which required removing my entire rear bench cushion. Now I can't get it to snap back into place. It's the 2 inserts beneath and in front of where each passenger's crotch would be that are causing the trouble. To release said snaps, I had to pull up with a lot of force, so I figured to snap them back in I could just slam my knee down right above but no dice -and believe me I made full use of my 163 lbs and gravity multiple times. Currently anyone can simply lift the bench cushion up from the front and there's also a slight gap behind causing the seatbelt receivers to keep getting lost into the abyss. Please help if you know anything about how these snapping mechanisms are supposed to reattach.
@Justin Valle, I hope this helps you: How to remove rear seat on 2010-14 prius | PriusChat Good Luck!
I just did some soundproofing on my rear seat area recently and had the same issue. What I did was take out the clips themselves from their holders (pry them out from either long sides) them snap them back on the hooks on the cushion. This way you can press the clip/cushion together with downward
Thanks gentlemen, both very helpful and detailed responses. I printed out both methods and am very happy with this forum's support.
I tried and tried again, what ended up being the trick for me was centering a knee perfectly centered above each of the snapping mechanisms and a mix of wiggling left and right while I lept and impaled my knee into the cushion with all my might 3-4 times. I weigh 163, I couldn't imagine someone smaller than me successfully achieving this.
