I put in the reverse lights (5K WHITE HIGH OUTPUT 21 LED BACK-UP LIGHT 7440 1000LM | 1 PAIR) in the other day, but this was the first chance I had to actually get to see them from the back. Very bright in person! (not the best picture).

I take it you got a fix it ticket? Now I'm nervous about mine.

 

That why I left my front plate on. Once they pull you over. They add tint, speeding, illegal lane change, or changing line without turn signal, might add talking on phone or texting, illegal HID lights, etc... Not worth it.

 

No, more bothered by the mark left behind from bracket. Couldn't buff it out. Ruined my bumper plugs trying to remove them. Very delicate.

Go to an OSH and pick up some nylon plugs and paint a few. They come in either black or white in varying sizes(1/8"-2"). I use the 5/64" in white, then paint over them with Plastidip white and the pearlizer or use Krylon Fusion as a primer, Toyota touch up paint(in the matching color) and cover them with a clear enamel. If you go the Toyota touch up route, let the touch up paint dry overnight before you spray with the clear enamel.

I finally got the chance to play around with another toy I've had on my desk for a week or so. Just long enough to pair with my android phone, via bluetooth, and to purchase the "advanced", i.e. unlocked Carista app...




Tomorrow it's off to the South Bay, to borrow some shop space and a DA from a friend. Giving the Faux Five Prius a mani, pedi and Brazilian(clay, polish and wax) spa treatment...


...and to mount some new emblems.

 

You know, that happened to me too. The license plate bolt was long and dug into the bumper as well and it does bother me too but I drilled out the original holes to use the bumper plugs. What did you do to replace it? Use larger diameter screws?

 

I reccomend using a sealant over wax. Black fire sealant is man made synthetic polymers and it lasts longer then a natural carnuba wax and gives a better shine. It's a little more expensive but a little goes a long way.

I use Mini VCI cable with TechStream software. It's the exact same way used at the dealer.

After the debadge (mis)adventures last Tuesday...

Took the Faux Five Prius to my friends in the South Bay and she received a mani, pedi and Brazilian(clay, polish and wax) spa treatment...

Went with a double carnauba wax over a sealant. Not really worried about the how long it lasts. I traded some programming work for the detail work. I figure I won, it took me less than 30 minutes to do my side of the bargain and just under 3 hours for my friend...


...along with a Grazio & Co Synchro rebadging...

I'll ask for the chili on my next order!!!

If anyone on here is looking for a place to get window tinting done here in San Diego. I highly recommend Alvin O's in Kearny Mesa.

The guy is the best at what he does here in SD and has been doing it for 30+ years. Also Alvin the owner is just a great person. I dropped off at my car today at 9AM and he gave me a ride back to my work for free while he worked on my car. He then picked me up again at 1:30PM at my work to pick up my car at his shop.
