I generally come to Prius chat just to keep up on Prius topics. Is there a way to exclude forums such and Fred's House of Pancakes and just see topics on the Prius when I View New Posts?

This will be a timesaver when I'm in a hurry and I can scan the other forums on weekends.

    Thank you.

I'm looking into this, but for right now the best thing would be to just go to Fred's first and click "Mark all as read", then go back to your "View New Posts" link and no Fred's links will be included.

My sentiments exactly. I was thinking of suggesting that Danny rename the site to Fred'sPancakeChat...

This technique doesn't seem to work for me. (I recall it working earlier.)
The FHOP threads still show up after marking the forum read (either option) and then pressing "View New Posts".
Also it's a bit of a hassle, a minimum of 3 clicks and refreshes just to view new posts.

Please count my vote in as well - I love being able to quickly scan the new posts but hate having to wade through unrelated FHOP stuff if I'm not in the (rare) mood.

Or maybe PoliticalChat with a sub forum for Prius. I can see why some other sites do not allow politics, sex, religion, etc on the main forum topics and INFORCE it.

We don't allow OT discussions to go on in main forums for the most part. That's why Fred's was created.

Also, this is a community, not a Prius site. Here's a Prius site:

    http://toyota.com/prius

    Here's a Prius Community:

Forgive me for saying so but that seems like a copout to me Danny. If I'm not mistaken, Toyota.com doesn't sponsor a forum for chatting - even about the Prius.

BTW, the previous posts about marking the FPH forum as READ in deed doesn't work. Now if you could at least "make that so" it would help. B)

Thank you. I should enforce my policy of always using spell check.

Works for me. It is a cookies dependent function, though. Check your security settings.

I do not know if its just me or does it seem FHOP tends to be quite busy...?

Whenever I want information on Prius related topics I cruise those main forums, when I want to read about other topics I go to FHOP I dont see the problem here..

I wouldnt say dannys copping out either, this is a community. And I pass on the web addy to those I talk to that have a prius...

I enjoy it here and I think others would too..

I've stopped handing out this web address for the past week. It's become a bit too eclectic and political. Right now it's difficult for a newbie to focus on new Prius posts when Fred's is usurping the list.

Having a user control setting that defaults to excluding non-Prius forums from View New Posts would help a lot.

I tend to read through and choose. It can definitely become bogged down with FHOP topics and then some look questionable in their "Topic" lines. I know the urge is to do the creative thing but sometimes it is best for the main topic to be a little more clear.

Hmmm are you holding your breath too? Theres a plethra of useful info here I have no problems viewing new prius posts & FHOP seems like the entertainment between the serious car topics. Example:
At the time I posted this, The view new postings button reaveled this:

1st page of new listings, 6 listings for FHOP & another 19 listings for other prius topics..

2nd page of new listings, 20 prius topics & 5 FHOP topics..

3rd page of new listings, 9 prius topics & 4 FHOP topics..

If I didnt want to read FHOP, I would just skip over it to the next topic..
    Thats just my opinion...... ;)
