Whats going on everyone? I'm a 25 yr old male and I just bought my first Prius. It's a 2006 Black #7 w/ Leather. My girlfriend thought I was drunk when I told her I traded in my 2001 F150 (10mpg driving normally) for this car. She laughed at me and when I showed her the car, she wanted to drive it. Haha.

Anyways so far so good. It's different and there aren't too many of them on the road... which is an added bonus. This car just made sense to me... 50 mpg, every feature you could ask for, 3k+ in tax breaks, and you can drive alone in carpool. I'm happy so far and to me this car should be selling for a lot more than it is.

Oh. Do anyone else's friends make gay jokes at them for driving one? Haha. I think they're jealous.

When I’m driving down the aggro roads here in the Bay Area I like to imagine the Bush voters in their 9MPG H2s muttering something under their breath while they’re tailgating me, along the lines of, “You faggot hippee tree hugger, get the hell out of MY lane! I have an H2, and I have the right-of-way! George W. Bush told me I have the right to use up all your gasoline!!!â€

Welcome to PriusChat, and congratulations on your car.

In my more preposterous moments, I like to think we're making a little history, one car at a time. :)

I too am a new Prius owner, got mine on April 7th. When I started thinking about getting a new car, I had at least 5 cars I was thinking of, 4 Hondas and 1 Toyota. As I did my research I slowly began to whittle it down to the two finalists, Civic Hybrid, and the Prius. The final determining factors for me were: folding rear seats, interior room, and gas mileage. This is by far the best car I have owned, at least until the 113mpg Prius comes out.

I'm almost a new Prius owner - my wife & I pick up our Prius this evening after work. :)

We looked at the Ford Escape Hybrid (we're trading in a Honda CRV, and in general we like small SUVs ... but not the gas mileage!). The FEH really didn't do anything for us. Toyota was next, and then we planned to check out the Civic Hybrid, but after the test drive of the Prius, we were literally sold. We ordered a Prius that day (March 25) and were told the car should be in between April 4 and 11th. And sure enough, yesterday the dealer called, saying that our Prius was just coming off the truck. We haven't driven our Prius yet and already we're pleased! :D

    Hey everyone!
I am about a week away from the arrival of the new baby! I ordered her in November!! It's been a long wait, and since I don't currently have any vehicle, I've gotten lots of books read riding the bus. I've been reading over all your joys of your new cars, and it makes me tear up to know that I can be apart of it soon, helping the world one green car at a time!!!

    love,
