Hello all, I'm in the market for a Prius, and found a local dealer selling a 2007 Prius with keyless start and backup cam. It's got 105,000 miles and has some minor body damage (scuffs and a couple of golf ball-sized dings). The price is $6000 and includes a 2-year warranty that covers everything including battery issues. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking?
Looks like a decent deal but be sure to get that warranty in writing and preferably have a lawyer look it over. Batteries often fail as time and mileage piles on and they're not cheap to fix/replace. Also for some peace of mind, jot down the VIN and look it up, Toyota's site has a dealer service record database and ask for other receipts/proof of service.
Sounds like a good deal.. 1. Check carfax 2.Ask what provider is issuing the warranty, read the fine print. 3. Is it a major dealer or a rinky dink small place?
Make sure when they're talking about warrantying the battery, they're talking about the HV battery and not just the 12V. If it includes the HV battery, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I agree the other posters about getting the Carfax and service history, if possible. If it's a former rental, run away.
