Anyone else receive the complimentary extended warranty for the intelligent power module in the mail?
Did yours say you had to have the safety recall (EOE) performed? Warranty Enhancement Notification? | PriusChat IIRC, PiPs werent part of that safety recall thing
I did not get it either. The inverter must be different because it is able to handle 38 kW instead of 10-15kW in EV mode of a regular Prius.
I believe this is the reason - it is a different part. The PiP does not have an extended warranty on the inverter as far a the letter states. It just says "Prius", and running it through techinfo also returns no results for the shop PiP. I reran 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Prius PHV (as techinfo calls the PiP) through checking for special campaigns and CSPS (including recalls) and noting comes up. It may be in error. I ran my shop's PiP (2014) through, again nothing under it's campaign or warranty tab. The letter for the shop's 2011 Prius (non-PiP, just vanilla) doesn't exclude the PiP, but it is a VIN specific letter. I don't think the PiP is included.
Did you get a VIN specific letter? That would be great new for PiP owners and would confuse the heck out of me, as techinfo doesn't mention PiP at all. Did you own an earlier 3rd Gen maybe and the letter is for that?
Ok, sorry for my tardiness, but I remembered to grab that letter from Toyota this morning. And although I never owned another Prius, we do have a 2011 Sienna. So it was a warranty extension, but for an oil cooler pipe. Sorry folks.
