I took my '12 Prius Two on a 5 hour round-trip today. I decided for fun, to drive with my laptop and TechStream running. Everything looked great, even my MG temperatures & ICE temps, in spite of having my grill blocked 100%, BUT my body voltage was always 15.0v while driving down the freeway I was only running the LED DRL's, radio, and heat (auto, 69f degrees, a/c OFF). This was during the whole trip. Is this considered normal behavior in the Gen3?
I have never seen my auxiliary battery charge voltage above about 14.5V. I have seen it drift up to about 14.7V momentarily and return to 14.5V. I have seen it drop to 13.5V but never as high as 15V.
mine is pretty much for the first 90 minutes at 14.8/ it'll go from there on quickly down to 14.7,14.6 & then a big step to 13.5, where it stays/
Per techinfo, the normal range is 13-15 volts, so while it's at the absolute maximum, it is within normal range. He'd have lots of DC/DC converter codes if it was out of specification I'm thinking. They melt down before they throw high voltage though.
