    Hi Vic,

You apparently did not comprehend my post. With the car closed and locked, the light stays on, unless the the switch is in the center position. If the switch is in the "door controlled position" it will go out in about 45 seconds. But, I, like most people do not sit around and watch my car after driving for half an hour, to be sure the light goes out, and somebody has not changed the position on my while I was watching the road. If the switch got changed over to the "always-on" position, the battery will be dead in the morning.

If the switch is in the center position, the light never comes on, and that is the only secure way , other than waiting the 45 seconds, to be sure its out.

Dead hybrid from non usage?. While the vehicle is parked, the sensors for the easy entry are left on. They drain the battery if the vehicle isn't turned on in a while.

What? I think he understood just fine. If you leave any of the overhead lights on of course they will drain the battery. But like most people don't you notice when you come to a stop and ready to park with the doors closed the overhead lights are on?

Only secure way?? Hardly. Because the advice your giving is predicated on leaving your car unlocked.

Leave the overhead light switch in the "DOOR" position.

That door convenience light if in "DOOR" position goes out instantly upon locking the car (the light goes out after 45 seconds if you DON'T LOCK THE CAR!!) and also lights up the interior upon unlock or touching the door handle with fob on you. A real nice feature especially for a women driver that should not be defeated. She can clearly see the interior of the car before entering. At night when locking if I see any interior light on I know I left a light on. Takes all of 2 seconds to lock & look. What is so hard about locking this car? Toy gave you 2 really easy choices.

I think all people who come on here with a dead battery complaint have one thing in common. They do not lock there car every single time even in the garage. And don't discover they have left a door or the hatch ajar till the next day or so. Dead battery. If you lock & look every time it soon is muscle memory and you never have to think twice about..did I lock my car?

No. Dead boot battery. Not Hybrid. All standby is drawn from boot. Car must be in ready before main hybrid relay is on. Even then the cpu control of hybrid battery will shutdown car before deep drain of hybrid. Hybrid control will not allow 100% charge or 100% drain. I think its 80/20. Hence you can never get full green bars on charge. Always one bar short.
You are able to kill the hybrid if your an absolute moron though. That then requires a special 200 volt trickle charger brought in special from Toyota Regional with accompanied charge. A world of hurt.

    Tried to jump...nothing happened.

Must be internal damage between the battery and the rest of the car. I have no idea.

All I know is that I need to read the odometer in order to transfer the title in my name. And I need to put it in Neutral.

So assuming it will NEVER jump...how do I do that?

You are sure 100% that you connected the jump battery the correct way round. If you did this from the front jump point the lights should work. In this situation it has been known that only one jaw on the jump cables actually is connected to the cables. Try turning the jump cable clamp round. The jump point at the front is also difficult to get some large jump cable to connect to. Try again.

you might try removing the 12 volt first, then try jumping.

Yes, good idea, and try both front and rear connections. Do interior lights and hazard flashers function?
