Already have the Firebird. I've owned it since 1979, and it needed a complete restoration one way or the other. It has lots of memories in it with many more to come.

Also, the fun is in the doing, and I like challenges. This project will use a combination of the skills I have been honing for a long time now. I am especially looking forward to the double-takes I'll get once it is done.

It was in the low 50's here Saturday and Sunday. By the time I took the pictures, everything had melted. Now it's just gray and cold here. You folks back Boston way are getting walloped though!

Finally found an editable image of the Prius v body structure. It will be so much easier when I can show the real car...

Hmmm. Image link doesn't work from your reply.

It will look as close to dead stock off of the showroom floor as I can get it. The only modifications I plan to make are whatever is needed to properly integrate the Prius v chassis under the car. The interior will be a true "hybrid" of the old and new, since I plan to use the new instruments and controls in the old dash. I may also move the hybrid battery to the rear seat area to get it out of the "wet zone" beneath the back window. The factory Pontiac drainage trough can potentially flood in a downpour.

Looking good! I know this is getting way ahead of things, but what are you doing about the wheels?

Getting something aftermarket that looks close to the oems? Using adapters for the oems?

    My purchase this weekend. :)
2014 Prius v with 4,282 miles on it. It was a roll-over on a soft surface, so lots of wrinkled sheet metal all over and a smashed windshield. Front of the rood caved in slightly too. All stuff I don't care about for the project. Sold off all of the stuff I didn't need ahead of time before it left the shop. Many thanks to Steve at AutoBeYours.com for acting as match-maker between myself and the owner!

Once it arrived at my place I stuck a folding chair inside and drove it into the garage. (Yes, it is fully functional!)

I also sold the power train from the Firebird to the shop, so it got loaded up onto the same trailer and left the same day.

It is going to be a GREAT Summer!!!
