It's like losing a friend. Leonard Nimoy passed today at age 83, sci-fi fans worldwide mourn. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/27/arts/television/leonard-nimoy-spock-of-star-trek-dies-at-83.html?_r=0
As a kid, you never even consider that people you know will one day die. As an adult, it's a painful reality.
This is true. But as I age, I also think you start to realize that death is just a natural part of life and existence. That doesn't mean that you don't mourn people and miss them, but the passings just become more "expected" and less shocking. I did the math this morning. And at the age I am now? Statistically, I'm only about 25 years away from going on my own "inevitable" Search For Spock.
He was very fortunate to be such an iconic figure of our pop culture, and lived a very good life as a result. Kudos to Leonard Nimoy. I will miss him and everything that he stood for. R.I.P.
Great actor, wonderful narrator. I've enjoyed everything I've seen / heard him involved with. Live Long and Prosper - what a terrific epitaph.
