Just bought a used v Five. I put 90k on my '04 and 399k on my '06. Likes - handling (the 17" rims/tires handle 10x better than my '06) -the extra room -Softex (light grey and almost white) -LED lights -much less engine noise -more legroom and more room for my left foot on the firewall -much better MFD quality -ECO mode is kinda cool, takes some getting used to Dislikes-mileage sucks at ~45mpg average (compared to 50mph at 399k on my '06) -Entunes (i.e. why is Traffic on another page from the Map????, etc..) -Steering wheel position, it's still pointed too high, I'm 6'3" tall. -all the steering wheel buttons are on the opposite side, just need to adjust -the recirc turns off (windshield and feet flow) after the electrostatic filter is done - how dumb All pretty small things, compared to the tremendous benefits of a Prius !!
I'm a 3 year owner of a Prius v 5 ATP... While the milage is not as nice as what you are used to, don't forget, the Prius v is also a big heavier than your Prius, which is why the mileage isn't as high as your other Prius. As for the recirc, I believe you can turn off the filter.
The elecrostatic filter (ES) is great. BUT, if you are on Defrost/Floor with Recirc ON and turn on the electrostatic filter, it filters for the 3 minutes or so, turns itself off, and then turns off the Recirculation mode - exactly why you turned on the ES filter in the first place. My only solution is to try and manually turn off the ES after about 2 minutes and then turn the recirc mode back on immediately.
2012 Prius v Five tires? Need new tires on our new to us vehicle. I narrowed it down to two options, MICHELIN PRIMACY MXM4 or PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 A/S PLUS. So similar, I can't decide. Pirelli's are on special and +/- $50 more affordable than the Michelin. Current tires are Toyo something or other. Just hit 40k on them. Been rotated every 5k according to maintenance records so I'm definitely not going with the original. Tons of tire threads on here. All over the board. Narrowed it down to the two above. All other things about tires are equal from what I can tell except Pirelli rated to 70K and Michelin rated to 55kThanks in advance for your input.
i like the michelins, we just put the primacy on our hycam. very quiet, and no hit to efficiency. my wife said the car felt like it was floating, compared to the oem's. but if you can't afford them, the pirelli's might be a good alternative.
Here is my post detailing my Michelin Premier A/S replacement tires. Observations from 17 inch Michelin Premier A/S tires. | PriusChat
