Does anyone know if it's possible to stop the Sat Nav display going into 'Night Mode' (dimmed display), when putting side lights on? I don't mind it doing it when I put the main headlights on.
The UK Prius does not have the thumb wheel brightness control that the US Prius does. It has instead a system where buy you push the mile/kilometer button while the lights are on to step through various brightness levels of the displays. Not exactly intuitive. The satnav at night goes to a black background irrespective of the brightness level set. There is a photo cell on the top right of the dash "near the screen" that assesses night and day adjusting the satnav screen background. From memory there is a setting for altering this when the satnav is being used. "Goldfinger" weather permitting I will check, and come back with instructions. John (Britprius)
Than Thanks, if switched into Day Mode will it automatically go back to Night Mode when I switch lights to main beam?
I do not think it will it will just stay in day mode. It may go back to normal operation after turning off the car, and lights something I have not tried. I did not come back with the answer as "Tideland" got there first. John (Britprius)
Thank you both, much appreciated, can' t believe I didn't see that option when I was playing around with the settings Just in case anyone looks up this thread at a later date - the 'Day Mode' option only appears when your side or headlights are switched on.
