How do you remove/replace fog lamps

    I want to R/R fog lamps on my 2006 with higher, brighter quality bulbs. I got the new bulbs from the dealer but when I came home to install them, uh, that's where I got lost.
    I figured it would be easy just like the headlights but no... it's doesn't look like it. I hope there's a little work around.

    The replacement fog lamps are:
    Halo 9006 4500K
    Not sure what all that means but I hope it's a brighter white to match the HID headlights.
    What's the difference between the 4500K and 7500K?

    well I know it's 9006 lol cause that's the bulb type. What brand and model?

    4500k? temperature colour. That's about the colour of most HID lights (close to white in colour with a hint of yellow if I remember correctly). 7,500 is probably not recommended. It'll be bluish and reduce light output. 6,000K is the max I'd recommend cause that's still white and bright enough to produce decent light with a hint of blue.

    olcorral, when replacing these is it as simple as switch a bulb or do you have to go through more steps? I want to do this as well but am worried it may get to complicated.

    Well, this isn't going as easy as I thought it might.
    I've seen and tried the methods to remove the 2 screws and move the plasic sheeting out of the way. It worked so far but then I am not able to remove the bulbs themselves.
    I can turn the unit counter clockwise only a few degrees but not far enough to take to bulb out. The wire running to the rear of the bulb is too short to complete the removal. Strange.
    I can not get under the car to see what I'm doing since it's so darn low to the ground. So it's been all by feel and not by sight.
    I'll try again tomorrow if I can find a couple blocks and if it stops raining here. Nope, it's gonna rain s'more!

    It is very simple. ONce you gain access to the back of the fog light, you just unplug the harness, twist the bulb to remove, insert and hten twist the new one to lock it in place, then plug it in and you're done.

    Oh crud, I get it.
    The plug just pops out and then remove the bulb, eh? Me duh, hate working in the dark. Any tabs to loosen b/4 the dern plug comes off?

    Regarding the R/R of the fog light bulbs...
    I've lowered the dork bar to a new all time new low.
    I've tried again unsuccessfully to remove the plug from the back of the bulb. What gives?
    I suppose there's a little tiny teensie weenie tab holding the plug to the back of the bulb. So, what's next? I've given it a yank and a tug or two with no luck. Swiveled and sweared, cussed and yearned, pleaded and begged but it ain't gonna give up without a fight...
    Neither am I...
    Lil help?

    This really shouldn't be causing you much difficulty. I used this web site:

    (go about 1/2 way down the page) to assist when I changed out to higher wattage whiter bulbs.

    Try twisting the bulb and removing it, pull the bulb down, and then unplug the harness once you can see the tab. Then you can put he new bulb in and plug the harness back on.

    Unless you plan on using htem again, it won't matter if you touch the bulbs when you remove them.

    When you put the new bulbs in, though, be very careful not to get your fingers on hte bulb.
