About to buy a 2011 Prius 2. Independent dealer. Clean Carfax, brand new Goodyear tires, and only 32k miles. Really looks immaculate in/out. Having the pre-purchase inspection tomorrow at Toyota dealer. If all goes well the dealer agreed to sell it to me for $14,500, ($16,100 OTD.) After checking KBB and other 2011 pack 2's with similar mileage, it would seem that I would be getting a great deal. Am I wrong?
I just bought a 2012 model with 28000 miles on it, toyota certified, for 16500. It sounds like yours is a good deal to me!
Just purchased a Silver 2011 P2 with 30,ooo miles for 12,900 . I was stubborn, and was just hoping the dealer would cave in at my low offer before someone else bought it. I won ! I just kind of figured since gas prices were very low, hybrid sales are low , this particular dealer had this used Prius for quite some time (and I know they wanted to move it !) and a clean car with a clean 1 owner carfax (local car) , I would make a low offer and let it ride to see if the dealer would finally accept it .......they did, I am thrilled at the price and the car. Was also able to get 3.9% finance rate, which is pretty good for a non-certified used car. Love the Prius
That's an unbelievable price, providing everything is good and checks out. What state are you in, and what's your tax rate? In CA, that car at that price would be almost non-existent, especially now that gas prices are quickly rising again. I would guess that after you pay it off, our respective deals will be similar. I paid about 14.5k, and after taxes, title and reg it came to just over 16k.
Yea, I am happy with the car and the deal. I was $14k out the door everything included except the financing . I am in PA, taxes are 6% I am figuring with everything - car,tax,tags/mv fees and financing it (unfortunately, lol) , I am at mid $15's . Felt I needed to make a move while gas prices were starting to go up ...........been looking at this car sit for a while ! Not bad for a 2011 with 30k miles. I have all the maintenance records for the (1 owner) car since it was new. Very local Toyota dealership .............and it was in for service at every 5k since new. It got the computer update SB as well. So far got about 1000 miles on it without a hiccup (knock on wood) . Even listened very closely this morning while starting it at -1 degrees for any slight engine knock/noise and nothing. Hopefully I got a good one .............and the price doesn't hurt either. You can read about my timeline here ............ before I even purchased a Prius . http://priuschat.com/threads/leap-of-faith.149883/#axzz3Rrz7ORSl I think you got a great price as well . Good luck with your new ride ! Yours looks exactly the same as mine ! Love the silver .
"Hopefully I got a good one"... GM buyers hope they get a good one. When buying a Prius I expect to get a good one. You played the game well and you picked about the worst weather for auto sales. Now go to the hardware store & buy some pipe insulation to block the grill. Fully blocked today, I had trouble keeping the engine warm and the inverter got up to 42F. Don't sweat the fuel economy. Most likely it will be in the mid 40's and can only go up. 12voltman, welcome to the Silver Squadron.
Haha!! Me too! I just bought a 2012 prius II for 16,000, 29k miles and Toyota certified pre-owned plus brand new tires all around What color didjya get?
It's the dark gray color. Love it. Just got the tint done and some weather tech mats. Next in the list is a leather kit and I'll be done. Helps that my husband owns a car audio/ electronics shop. Might even drop in a DVD player for the kids!
