    Hello,
My car is a 2006 Package 7. I tried to do the reverse camera on demand mod as described by darelldd, but now the MFD and dashboard display are out! Any suggestions?

loose connection? or maybe you accidentally switched the plugs when you re-installed them?

No, I checked everything, but it's dark here now (Florida), so I can't recheck. Could it be a fuse?

Not sure how you can blow fuse with that method but then again I'm no EE.

It's a good idea to check the fuses (it's possible something accidentally shorted to ground) and connections. Did you make the connections to the right wires? If you can, remove the mod and see what happens.

OK, I fixed the problem--somehow I blew 2 fuses during the install. I replaced both and everything's working fine. The button works like a charm. Thank you for the quick responses.

Wow! I don't see how you could blow TWO fuses doing that easy mod! I'm pretty sure that the gray wire is only hot when you have the car powered up. Did you do all the work while listening to the radio or something? So, maybe we should add a new "First step: Power car off" instruction to the mod list. B)
